Get ready for a full day adventure tour which includes only the best Lappish experiences you can imagine! Visit Ranua Wildlife park, go to a traditional Lappish wood burning sauna, try floating in a private lake and enjoy real Lappish countryside.
This is our ultimate Lappish adventure where we'll try to show you the best of Lapland in just one day. Our day starts with hotel pick up and a one hour drive to Ranua Wildlife Park. In the summer you can expect to see animals playing in their natural habitat, and during the winter find them playing in the snow! There are over 50 animal species in this Zoo. See polar bears, gray wolves, geese, owls, foxes, lynxes, minks and brown bears, and learn more about their lives in the Arctic circle. A walk through the Wildlife park will take several hours (trail is approx. 3km long).
Following our wildlife safari is lunch (buffet style) after which we'll take a drive to our true Lappish Hideaway. The trip does not take more than 40 minutes.
Finland is lakes, thousands of lakes. It's to the lake, where the Finn escapes during spring, summer and fall and it's by the lake where he most enjoys his sauna. It's here that he peels off the restlessness and tension of city life with a "cooking" in the sauna and a breathtaking plunge in the lake. You are welcome to our private arctic lake!
Traditional Finnish Sauna, built among the pine trees where the smell of natural resin can join the löyly (steam) to fill the lungs with a pure and healthy scent. The Finnish sauna is praised for its rejuvenating powers and health benefits. By interchanging hot and cold temperatures, i.e. warming up in the sauna and then jumping in the icy water, you improve your circulation, skin, and pump up the adrenaline! Intrigued? Your turn to try it!
After the sauna we will enjoy traditional Finnish dinner, set up an open fire, and chit chat.
It’s time to prepare for the last part of this adventure - floating in a private lake under the Lappish sky.
In the summer season, you will float in a lake under the polar sun, as we have polar days here with white nights. We will dress you up in rescue floating suits made of light, waterproof material that will keep you dry and warm. In the winter, you will float in an ice hole (lake is frozen!) and let yourself loose while you enjoy this peaceful moment.
This all-day adventure lasts for 9+ hours, and it shows you the most fabulous fun Lapland has to offer. If you want to make the most of your time in Rovaniemi, this full day tour is an excellent choice. Keep in mind that we will do our best to make you comfortable, warm and entertained.

Please let us know your diet before or after booking your adventure. We will take into account your wishes and prepare the food suitable for you.
A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email. If you think you have made a booking and have not received an email confirmation, please send us an e-mail with an inquiry through our contact form, and we will figure this out together.
You can pay through the internet, through our website. This is by far the easiest, safest and fastest way to reserve and pay for your adventure. You will receive a voucher as a confirmation via e-mail which you will need to bring with you for your trip. You will always get a voucher by email: REMEMBER TO PRINT IT OUT AND BRING IT ALONG OR MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN SHOW IT ON YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICE!
There are a few different ways you can book our trips. First of all, you can book almost all our trips right here on our website. There is a booking window on each tour page and we do recommend that you book and pay for your trip there, preferably in good time as we keep our groups small and some tours tend to sell out.
If the trip you would like to book is not bookable online, you can call or email our office directly, the phone number is +358 40 744 2567. Another way is to send us an e-mail with an inquiry through our contact form. What we need to have is your name, how many people are in your party, where you are staying, a way of contacting you either an e-mail or a phone number and what tour you are trying to book.
This is a nice question. We ask all participants to be ready from the start of the pickup time indicated in the voucher. Please be at your assigned location at the start time that you chose when booking the tour.
Here you should wait for your guide. Have your email and phone number listed with us so we can contact you if we run into any trouble finding you.
1. Start with thermal underwear and warm socks.
2. If it’s really cold, –20 or below, wear an additional fleece layer on top of your thermals. Another pair of socks, preferably woolly or thermal, will keep your feet warm.
3. Wear pants with thermal lining. Don’t underestimate the importance of a neck warmer or a scarf. Slip into your winter boots and do them up well.
4. Almost done! Throw on your winter jacket, put on a warm hat and thermal gloves. Don’t forget to tuck your gloves into your sleeves and zip your jacket ALL the way up
Nordic Adventures is also happy to rent out the winter clothing for 25 €/person/day.
Most of our tours (please see specifications under each tour) include transfers from accommodation in Rovaniemi city area. It is included in the adventure price. Transfers from accommodation places located further out from the city (for example Arctic Snow Hotel, Apukka Resort, Arctic Circle Wilderness Lodge Resort) can be arranged at an additional cost.
The pick up is usually 5-20 min before the start of the safari (time in your voucher). Transportation back is immediately after the end of the safari.
We try to provide exact pickup time one day before the start of the tour by email or text message/whats-app, which is why it is important that you provide your valid email and phone number when booking a tour.
We won't overburden your schedule, we will just make sure that you see the best Rovaniemi has to offer. See the rare arctic animals in the wonderful Ranua Zoo, spend some time shopping, and finish the evening in a relaxing Finnish sauna followed by an open fire Dinner!
What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about traditional Finnish adventure? Northern lights hunting, Finnish sauna, or traditional Lappish dinner in a cozy wooden cottage away from the city buzz? Correct! On this tour you will get all of the above and even a little more!
