ABOUT THIS TOUR

Meet the magnificent Arctic animals on our sweet combo tour. Ride a reindeer sleigh and take a husky sleigh ride through winter landscapes.

Visit a husky kennel and reindeer farm and learn about their habits and Lappish culture. Get to know the animals and enjoy your winter adventure. Grab your cameras and get ready for an adventure.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Rovaniemi and take you to the reindeer farm. Along the way, we will pass snow-covered fields and magical Lappish landscapes. At reindeer safari, you will get an exclusive chance to become a certified reindeer driver! A reindeer driving license will be given to everyone, after a reindeer safari. A professional tour guide will provide you with a safety briefing, after which you will go on a 500m self-driving trip.

Our next stop is the Husky park. This park has about 90+huskies, and each year new puppies are born. You will have a unique chance to see pet dogs, learn more about their nurturing and habits. Huskies are born to run, and they are happy to take you on a safari. After a safety briefing, you can sit back and glide through the snowfields of Lapland on a husky-pulled sleigh! The husky ride is 2 km long, which gives you just enough time to snap some excellent photos. After the ride, we will warm up with some hot berry juice and get cozy around the campfire at the park.

If you want to see frozen lakes, snowy forests and dazzling icy rivers, and enjoy traditional Husky and reindeer sleigh ride, this tour is perfect for you!

Frequently asked questions

(See all questions and answers here)
Q:

- When is a booking for a tour with Nordic Adventures confirmed?

A:

A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email. If you think you have made a booking and have not received an email confirmation, please send us an e-mail with an inquiry through our contact form, and we will figure this out together.

Q:

- How do i pay for a tour with Nordic Adventures?

A:

You can pay through the internet, through our website. This is by far the easiest, safest and fastest way to reserve and pay for your adventure. You will receive a voucher as a confirmation via e-mail which you will need to bring with you for your trip. You will always get a voucher by email: REMEMBER TO PRINT IT OUT AND BRING IT ALONG OR MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN SHOW IT ON YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICE!

Q:

- Snow goggles necessary or not?

A:

We do not provide snow goggles during our tours as we do not recommend using them. Personally we prefer to have our vision unimpaired. Goggles tend to fog up, limit visibility and cause unnecessary driving accidents with unexprienced dog drivers. If you really do want to use goggles please bring your own then.

Q:

- Do i have to book in advance?

A:

There are a few different ways you can book our trips. First of all, you can book almost all our trips right here on our website. There is a booking window on each tour page and we do recommend that you book and pay for your trip there, preferably in good time as we keep our groups small and some tours tend to sell out.

If the trip you would like to book is not bookable online, you can call or email our office directly, the phone number is +358 40 744 2567. Another way is to send us an e-mail with an inquiry through our contact form. What we need to have is your name, how many people are in your party, where you are staying, a way of contacting you either an e-mail or a phone number and what tour you are trying to book.

Q:

- How is it best to be ready for a pick-up for a tour with Nordic Adventures?

A:

This is a nice question. We ask all participants to be ready from the start of the pickup time indicated in the voucher. Please be at your assigned location at the start time that you chose when booking the tour.

Here you should wait for your guide. Have your email and phone number listed with us so we can contact you if we run into any trouble finding you.

Q:

- How to dress right and feel comfortable in Winter?

A:

1. Start with thermal underwear and warm socks.

2. If it’s really cold, –20 or below, wear an additional fleece layer on top of your thermals. Another pair of socks, preferably woolly or thermal, will keep your feet warm.

3. Wear pants with thermal lining. Don’t underestimate the importance of a neck warmer or a scarf. Slip into your winter boots and do them up well.

4. Almost done! Throw on your winter jacket, put on a warm hat and thermal gloves. Don’t forget to tuck your gloves into your sleeves and zip your jacket ALL the way up

Nordic Adventures is happy to tell you where you can rent costumes if there is such a need!

Q:

- Do you provide transportation to your adventures?

A:

Most of our tours (please see specifications under each tour) include transfers from accommodation in Rovaniemi city area. It is included in the adventure price.

The pick up is usually 5-20 min before the start of the safari (time in your voucher). Transportation back is immediately after the end of the safari.

We try to provide exact pickup time one day before the start of the tour by email or text message/whats-app, which is why it is important that you provide your valid email and phone number when booking a tour.

We visited the reindeer farm + reindeer sleigh and husky park + husky sleigh. We appreciate it a lot, especially the story of these animals which has been very well told. The reindeer farm has more than a hundred years of history, we were able to touch and feed the reindeer. The husky park was very large and raised over 90 huskies, we were also able to pet and take pictures with the huskies.
Alex was very welcoming and informative.
Thanks for this morning.

This tour company does a good job picking you up on time and accommodating where needed. We did the reindeer/husky rides, enjoyed snacks/drinks, warm fires and learning more about these animals. Of course we got to feed/pet these animals as much as we wanted. Lots of fun, we would definitely recommend this company when booking a tour.

I would recommend this tour as it will save you a bit of time (rather than doing it DIY, one by one). It is do-able the three activities in one day in santa village becauseeverything is walking distance in there, but if you want to know more infos and trivias, and save time on searching the places where to do activities, and queuing to buy the tickets then i would recommend you to book this one. It includes everything and the guide will answet yout questions. Thanks to our guide Alex, we manage to do everything we want to do in 1 day. We didnt have to line to buy tickets in that cold weather. The trivias and his shop recommendations are interesting and useful!

Fantastic

We had a brilliant day out with a very informative guide. Collected from our apartment and taken to feed the reindeer, we had a sleigh ride followed by a hot drink. Moved on to visit the Huskies, they were wonderful to see, the ride was brilliant. Met Santa and had lots of information throughout from our guide :)

LOVED IT!

The tour itself was soo worth it. We got to ride in a husky carriage (I advise 5km distance), had a tour in the husky farm, got to pet beautiful huskies, sent letters from Santa’s Post Office, see Santa himself, rode in a reindeer carriage, and had an adventure on snowmobile, and entered the ARCTIC!!! Everything from 10:30 till 16:00. I wish we could spend more time in Santa’s Village but everything closed at 17:00.
Alex was a very very helpful and polite person. He was kind enough to arrange additional things that we wanted to add to the tour today! He was very understanding too. Also, he told us about the live video-cam that was installed right where you enter Arctic Circle. He helped us bu taking a lot of our pictures too!!
