ABOUT THIS TOUR

What would you do if you wanted to experience an ultimate winter adventure? Well, of course, you would visit Santa's village and try husky and reindeer sleigh rides!

Join us for a Santa's village guided tour meet Santa and let loose on a husky and reindeer sleigh ride! This all happens at our unique Santa Village and Animal Safari tour.

Tour starts with a hotel pickup and a ride to Santa Claus Village. In the village, you can visit the Elves’ Post Office and send greetings to a friend using the official Arctic Circle stamp. The Elves’ Post Office is an official part of Finland's national post service, so your friends will indeed receive the letter from the Arctic Circle. After the visit to Posti, we will take you for a ceremonial Arctic Circle crossing. This is considered to be a special place, where there's no stress and no bad vibes, so the legends say that one who crosses the Arctic Circle will have a lifetime of joy. That's why you will get a certificate of crossing - as a reminder of this magical place.

We assume you have some things to say to the Santa Claus, so we're going to take you to the Santa's office to meet the man in red himself!  Have your camera ready and take a selfie with Santa after you tell him your Christmas wishes. There will be plenty of time to check out other facilities, grab a coffee and to get a present from a gift shop before we head on to our next stop - reindeer sleigh ride!

Get ready for a short, but sweet 500m reindeer ride with a professional reindeer musher. Reindeer are quite busy year-round, helping Santa deliver all those gifts, and we will be lucky to catch them on their break from flying. Riding a reindeer sleigh in the middle of Arctic circle is an extraordinary experience, and we are thrilled to have you with us during this adventure.

After a 300m walk, the safari continues to the Huskey Park where you will have a chance to meet the dogs and see them playing in a snowy field. After a safety briefing, we will endeavor on our 2km long sleigh ride. Huskies love sleighs, and they love to run, so they will be happy to take you on a snowy ride through icy Lappish landscapes. If you want to experience the ultimate winter magic, then this Santa and Animal safari tour is just for you!

Frequently asked questions

(See all questions and answers here)
Q:

- When is a booking for a tour with Nordic Adventures confirmed?

A:

A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email. If you think you have made a booking and have not received an email confirmation, please send us an e-mail with an inquiry through our contact form, and we will figure this out together.

Q:

- How do i pay for a tour with Nordic Adventures?

A:

You can pay through the internet, through our website. This is by far the easiest, safest and fastest way to reserve and pay for your adventure. You will receive a voucher as a confirmation via e-mail which you will need to bring with you for your trip. You will always get a voucher by email: REMEMBER TO PRINT IT OUT AND BRING IT ALONG OR MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN SHOW IT ON YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICE!

Q:

- Snow goggles necessary or not?

A:

We do not provide snow goggles during our tours as we do not recommend using them. Personally we prefer to have our vision unimpaired. Goggles tend to fog up, limit visibility and cause unnecessary driving accidents with unexprienced dog drivers. If you really do want to use goggles please bring your own then.

Q:

- Do i have to book in advance?

A:

There are a few different ways you can book our trips. First of all, you can book almost all our trips right here on our website. There is a booking window on each tour page and we do recommend that you book and pay for your trip there, preferably in good time as we keep our groups small and some tours tend to sell out.

If the trip you would like to book is not bookable online, you can call or email our office directly, the phone number is +358 40 744 2567. Another way is to send us an e-mail with an inquiry through our contact form. What we need to have is your name, how many people are in your party, where you are staying, a way of contacting you either an e-mail or a phone number and what tour you are trying to book.

Q:

- How is it best to be ready for a pick-up for a tour with Nordic Adventures?

A:

This is a nice question. We ask all participants to be ready from the start of the pickup time indicated in the voucher. Please be at your assigned location at the start time that you chose when booking the tour.

Here you should wait for your guide. Have your email and phone number listed with us so we can contact you if we run into any trouble finding you.

Q:

- How to dress right and feel comfortable in Winter?

A:

1. Start with thermal underwear and warm socks.

2. If it’s really cold, –20 or below, wear an additional fleece layer on top of your thermals. Another pair of socks, preferably woolly or thermal, will keep your feet warm.

3. Wear pants with thermal lining. Don’t underestimate the importance of a neck warmer or a scarf. Slip into your winter boots and do them up well.

4. Almost done! Throw on your winter jacket, put on a warm hat and thermal gloves. Don’t forget to tuck your gloves into your sleeves and zip your jacket ALL the way up

Nordic Adventures is happy to tell you where you can rent costumes if there is such a need!

Q:

- Do you provide transportation to your adventures?

A:

Most of our tours (please see specifications under each tour) include transfers from accommodation in Rovaniemi city area. It is included in the adventure price.

The pick up is usually 5-20 min before the start of the safari (time in your voucher). Transportation back is immediately after the end of the safari.

We try to provide exact pickup time one day before the start of the tour by email or text message/whats-app, which is why it is important that you provide your valid email and phone number when booking a tour.

LOVED IT!

The tour itself was soo worth it. We got to ride in a husky carriage (I advise 5km distance), had a tour in the husky farm, got to pet beautiful huskies, sent letters from Santa’s Post Office, see Santa himself, rode in a reindeer carriage, and had an adventure on snowmobile, and entered the ARCTIC!!! Everything from 10:30 till 16:00. I wish we could spend more time in Santa’s Village but everything closed at 17:00.
Alex was a very very helpful and polite person. He was kind enough to arrange additional things that we wanted to add to the tour today! He was very understanding too. Also, he told us about the live video-cam that was installed right where you enter Arctic Circle. He helped us bu taking a lot of our pictures too!!

We had a fun day with Alex our tour guide. He came and pick us up directly at the hotel and he stayed with us all day. We got to see Santa Claus and Alex brought us at the perfect time so we didn't have to wait long, exhausting queues. He then brought us to see the huskies and do a ride with them and finally a ride with the reindeers. By being with him we basically didn't do any queue at all. Which is great with young kids. Thank you very much Alex!

Beautiful tour

It was a funny tour. At the reindeer farm we fed the reindeer and we did a reindeer sled ride; after that we went to husky breeding where we did mini-tour in the forest with the huskies' sled.In both places we had an interesting explanation about the life of animals from the musher and the farmer.Alex, the tour guide, is amazing! He explained us about every experiences, especially at the Santa Claus Village and also he talked about life style of finnish. I suggest this tour with Alex, because he's a really lovely and polite guy!!!

Great to do once.

The scenery was beautiful and Santa was great. Wish I would have gone at night rather than during the day because it is all lit up at night. Tour guide was great-helped us find a reindeer hide to purchase which was cheaper there than at our hotel... The reindeer sled ride was great.
