Departing from Rovaniemi, this 4-hour tour takes place at a private lakeside venue, approximately 30km from the city, amidst picturesque Lappish landscapes. It provides a unique opportunity to understand and experience life near the Arctic Circle in a traditional setting.

What to Expect on Your Authentic Finnish Experience:

Part 1: Traditional Wood-Fired Sauna Experience

Don’t worry if it’s your first time – your guide will explain everything, and you can enjoy the experience at your own pace.
  • Relaxation & Culture: Learn about the traditions and cultural significance of the Finnish sauna, a cornerstone of Finnish well-being and daily life.

Part 2: Invigorating Ice Swimming / Snow Rolling

  • Arctic Challenge: After the sauna, it’s time for the ultimate Arctic contrast – a plunge into a hole in the frozen lake. For many guests, this is a once-in-a-lifetime, bucket-list achievement that delivers an unforgettable adrenaline rush followed by a surge of endorphins. The initial shock quickly gives way to a surprising warmth and euphoria.
  • Bucket List Moment: Stepping into the icy water is more than just a challenge – it’s a celebration of courage and presence. Many describe it as a moment of clarity and exhilaration, a story to tell for years.
  • Winter Adaptation: In winter conditions with deep snow, participants may also opt for a refreshing roll in the snow, a common practice after a warm sauna. This activity provides a unique sensory contrast.
  • Guided & Safe: Your guide will explain everything and ensure the process is safe and comfortable. You’ll be able to try it at your own pace – no pressure, just opportunity.

Part 3: Lappish Hospitality & Snacks by Fireplace

  • Local Culture: Guests are invited into a Finnish home setting at the private venue. This provides an opportunity to experience local culture and understand daily life near the Arctic Circle.

This tour was FANTASTIC!Booking was easy and confirmation of pick up times were clear. Our guide (Alex) picked us up on time and gave us lots of great information about the area on our way to the tour.We received a very friendly welcome by Alex and his wife to their home, the facilities were very authentic. The location was out of this world! The sauna was fantastic with lots of amenities in the changing area too like towels, flip flops, hot and cold drinks.Highly recommend the ice swimming then popping back into the sauna afterwards! We had 2 hours to dip between the swimming and sauna before a lovely lunch was prepared for us in the cabin with a warm fire.A 5* tour with 5* hosts - highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing! We were hosted by Alex & Tanya at their property for one of the best experiences we had during our trip to Rovaniemi.Alex collected us from our hotel in the city and drove us out to his family property were we were introduced to Tanya, his wife, who was so welcoming and genuinely seemed happy that we were there. We started with the wood burning sauna and when we were confident enough we embraced ice dipping in the families own lake. The snow as cold under foot on the way down to the lake (there were disposable slippers if you wanted them) and the frozen lake was SO cold but it was an amazing experiences and definitely got the heart going. We were in and out of the sauna and the lake a couple of times so we could fully experience this activity, and what an experience it was.Once we’re were finished we went up to the family ‘Kota’ where Tanya had prepared a light supper of traditional sausages, salad, homemade potato cakes and of course the obligatory hot berry juice (I really love the berry juice!). There were also cinnamon cookies for dessert if we wanted them. Alex & Tanya spent time with us talking to us about the area and all sorts of things, it was like being hosted by friends. This really was a well organised and professional excursion, run by two absolutely lovely people.Kiitos Alex and Tanya 🥰
