This Full Day Snowmobile Safari into the Wilderness from Rovaniemi is designed for participants prioritizing extensive snowmobiling and deep exploration of Lapland's terrain. This comprehensive 6-hour expedition navigates less-used tracks, venturing into authentic Lappish backcountry. The tour provides access to natural sights unreachable on shorter excursions, ensuring an immersive Arctic experience.
The expedition commences with a safety briefing and snowmobile driving instructions from our professional English-speaking guide. Participants will gain confidence before departure. Snowmobiles are user-friendly, suitable for various skill levels.
The safari involves driving snowmobiles across diverse terrains, including frozen lakes, forest trails, and fells. The expedition covers significant distances, reaching remote locations. Depending on snow conditions, the tour may include driving on untouched powder snow.
Midway through the expedition, a wilderness stop occurs. The guide prepares a Lappish outdoor soup lunch over an open fire. This meal is accompanied by hot drinks and snacks, offering a break in the Arctic environment.

Please be on time! Our tours follow a strict schedule, and if you miss the hotel pick-up, you will not be able to join later. Arriving separately by taxi or private car is usually not possible, as it may disrupt the program and group safety. Plan ahead — we appreciate your understanding.
Snowmobile safaris can be physically demanding and involve vibrations that may not be safe for everyone. For safety reasons, we do not recommend this tour for pregnant women, as the snowmobile ride or sledge pulled by a snowmobile may cause discomfort or potential risk.

If you have any pre-existing health conditions (such as heart disease, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, or back/hip problems), please consult your doctor before booking. Participation is at your own risk, and it’s important that you feel confident in your ability to take part.
If special arrangements are needed (such as separate transport), additional costs may apply.
We also highly recommend personal travel insurance, as our liability only covers damages under Finnish law and motor vehicle insurance.
No prior experience is needed! This safari is beginner-friendly. Before the ride, your guide will give clear safety instructions and a driving briefing. Most guests ride snowmobiles for the first time, and it’s easier than you might expect.
For most of our snowmobile tours, we provide high-quality thermal outer clothing to keep you warm and safe during the adventure. This includes a thermal overall, winter boots, mittens, a balaclava, woolen socks, and a helmet. A scarf is also available if needed.
You're welcome to wear your own winter clothes and boots if you prefer, but we strongly recommend using our gear - it’s specially designed for Arctic conditions and will keep you comfortable even in very cold weather.
Underneath the thermal suit, we recommend wearing your own thermal underwear, fleece or wool layers, and sport or ski socks. If the temperature is below -15°C, you may also wear your own jacket underneath the overall for extra warmth.
