We booked the sauna, ice swimming, Lappish dinner, and northern lights on our 3rd day. Alex, the owner, picked us up on time and drove us to their private compound far from the buzz of the city.
I and my friends are the only tourists so it really felt personal and exclusive! Alex explained how to do the experience with the sauna and ice dipping. He instructed us to spend 15 to 20 minutes in the sauna then go outside the cabin to feel the cold then go back again. He told us to do this 3 times or when we feel we are ready, we should dip ourselves on the lake! Then go straight back to the sauna! We spent 2 hours in and out of the sauna then we finally had the courage to jump in the lake and boy it was freezing! But surprising very exciting and relaxing at the same time! After that, we went to meet Alex and his wife Tanya for dinner in a small cottage with an amazing interior and ambiance . The dinner was cooked by themselves! There were Salmon, potatoes, bread, fresh vegetables, biscuits and drinks! It was so delicious! A wonderful way to end the experience. They also shared stories and interesting facts about the wild animals, mushrooms, and berries in Finland. We really felt their passion for nature and for what they do. We even met their very cute dog Lumi!

We had a great tour to the frozen falls with Alex. Fortunately it was just us for that day so we actually had a private tour! Alex was great and professional! The falls and the trail is wonderful and special. We sure recommend to visit there in small group such as Nordic Adventures offer. Thank you Alex for a wonderful day in the nature!

We had a wonderful experience visiting Alex Rudyuk. Along with an incredible sauna, he gave us much information about his world. We appreciate the knowledge, and really feel that we got an actual taste of what living in northern Finland is like. Thank you so much!

We booked the traditional Finnish sauna and ice swimming with Alex and his wife.
They very kindly picked us up and dropped us off at our AirBnB, and provided us with a lot of interesting facts and information about Finnish culture and traditions on the ride there and back.
The sauna was very cosy and well equipped with everything that we needed, including coffee, tea, water and lollies. Slippers and towel was also provided.
The sauna experience followed by ice swimming was amazing and unforgettable!
It was such a pleasant surprise to have a meal of sausages, biscuits and glogi at the end of the day too!
This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Rovaniemi, and I would highly recommend it to everyone!

We booked the traditional Finnish sauna last minute and were so glad we did it!! Alex and his wife were very accommodating and even picked us up from our Airbnb. The ride to their wonderful retreat was informative and we learned a lot of interesting facts about the Finnish culture. When we arrived we got taught how to use their traditional woodfire sauna and then had great fun running to the ice lake and snow rolling!! So refreshing!! Even though we booked the sauna without dinner (because we had booked last minute) Alex and his wife still prepared a surprise delicious Finnish feast with glogi, sausages, flatbread and biscuits. What a Beautiful landscape, to see frozen waterfalls was breath taking. We took the small tour 2km, as I took my 2 children (11- boy & 14 -girl) They really enjoyed it, but the 11 yr old towards the end got bored, and cold. We also had a break after seeing the 3rd and final waterfall, where we chopped wood, & made a camp fire, so we could BBQ sausages for lunch with a hot chocolate, and Marshmallows. Marshmallows went down well with the children. There is some steep track, but has some rope to hold on too. if you step of the beaten track the snow can be deep, and slippy, so do this with caution.
The guide pick us up from our hotel , and dropped us back, He was pleasant, but quite happy to answer question, but didn't really engage in general conversation.
My Only Tip is make sure you use the toilet at the petrol station stop, as in the forest you have to use a dry hole.
The trip from the Rovaniemi is just over an hour, you are hiking for about an hour and half, and stop for lunch for about an hour. Total time for the trip is about 5 hrs.

Wir haben bei Alex einen Abend in einer echten finnischen Sauna gebucht, inkl. Dinner.

Die max. Kapazität der Sauna beträgt 6 Personen, so dass die Gruppe auf keinen Fall gross wird. Wir hatten den Luxus, die Sauna (eine separate Hütte, genau so, wie man sich das vorstellt) ganz für uns zu haben. So mussten wir auch nicht auf irgendwelche Befindlichkeiten betreffend Kleiderordnung Rücksicht nehmen sondern konnten - wie es sich gehört - die Sauna splitternackt geniessen. Alex holte uns in Rovaniemi ab, denn das Anwesen ist mitten im Wald an einem privaten See gelegen. Alles war bereits liebevoll vorbereitet, so dass wir sofort zum Schwitzen konnten. Zuerst probierten wir die Abkühlung mit dem frischen Schnee, aber bei -25°C war das doch etwas kalt. Daher zogen wir es ab dem 2. Gang vor, ebenfall nackt in den eiskalten See zu springen. Was für ein Erlebnis! Es empfiehlt sich lediglich, bei solchen Temperaturen richtige Badeschlappen mitzubringen, denn die Füsse tun nach kurzer Zeit im Schnee weh, und die bereitgelegten Schläppchen sind zwar gut gemeint, können aber wirklich nur als Notbehelf dienen.

Anschliessend gab es noch ein zwar einfaches aber trotzdem hervorragendes Dinner mit geräuchertem+gebratenen Lachs. Wer hier etwas anderes als heissen Saft und Wasser trinken möchte, muss Bier und Wein selbst mitbringen, da Alex keine Lizenz zum Ausschank alkoholischer Getränke hat. Dafür hatten wir während des Essens netten Smalltalk und erfuhren noch einiges über die Bewohner und die Natur. Mit der Nordlicht-Jagd war leider nichts, da nach einem wunderschönen Tag abends Wolken mit etwas Schnee aufzogen. Ansonsten haben wir uns aber extrem wohl gefühlt und werden das beim nächsten Besuch sicher wiederholen.

Впервые повезли ребенка к Санте. Выбрали для этого наименее загруженный период января. Пробыли в Финляндии 3 дня, из которых 1 - поездка в деревню Санты и Санта-парк. Помня свой положительный опыт посещения Диснейленда с услугой ВИП-обсуживания, заказали у своего турагента подобную услугу. И вот хочу поделиться со всеми этим своим опытом и эмоциями.
Встречал в аэропорту нас Александр. К несчастью нашему багаж не прилетел (остался в Хельсинки). А в нем письмо ребенка для Санты (которое Санта должен продемонстрировать ребенку), подарок ребенку от Санты, костюм гномика, в котором сын хотел порадовать Санту, не считая всего очень нужного для быта и т.д. Багаж в системе нашли и обещали утром следующего дня привезти в отель. Время прибытия нашего багажа приходилось на 30-40 минут позже запланированой встречи с Сантой. Не стану писать свои расстроенные чувства по этому поводу, и так ясно - везли ребенка на один день, с неудобной стыковкой рейсов и все коту под хвост. Но!!!! Александр сотворил чудо, он лично утром следующего дня поехал и встретил наш багаж, привез оперативно в отель, перенес встречу с Сантой на позже - и день мы провели как в сказке.
Сопровождающим гидом у нас на целый день был Алексей - очень добрый, отзывчивый на любые просьбы человек. По дороге из отеля в деревню был очень познавательный рассказ о жизни в Финляндии, ее тонкостях, о природе. Услышанное о финских оленях впечатлило даже ребенка.
В отзывах все рекомендуют отвести на знакомство с Сантой и посещение Санта-парка несколько дней. Я скажу вам так, не слушайте! Если ВИП-обслуживание вы закажите у Nordic Adventures (Rovaniemi), то как и мы потратите на эти два места не более 5-6 часов. Мы за это время обошли все, что можно. Нигде ни минуты не ожидали. Пообедали без спешки. Ничего не пропустили и получили невероятные впечатления!
Более того, благодаря Алексею, нашли свою потеряшку (в Санта-парке ребенок забыл игрушку, пришлось возвращаться из деревни).
Вообщем вышли мы из отеля в 10:20 и вернулись в него в 16:25 со всеми возможными сертификатами, сувенирами, фотографиями и т.д.
Если вы дорожите своим временем, если хотите чтобы ребенок поверил или укрепился в своей вере в Санту, я рекомендую вам услуги Александра и Алексея. Это того стоит на 100%.
